Global Congress on Private Land Conservation, 8-10 December 2021

The 2021 Global Congress of the International Land Conservation Network (ILCN) and Eurosite - the European Land Conservation Network (Eurosite-ELCN) enabled the exchange within an international community of civic and private land conservation practitioners. Several hundred participants from all around the world could build capacity and improve their work by sharing their expertise on a broad range of topics related to private land conservation.

The participants of the digital Global Congress got the opportunity to follow presentations and discussion panels in five core areas: 

• Conservation finance
• Conservation law and policy
• Organisation and governance
• Land stewardship and management
• Large landscape restoration and conservation

In addition to these tracks, two thematic content streams were offered:

• Eurosite-ELCN sessions on private land conservation in Europe
• IUCN Privately Protected Area Specialist Group Sessions on the IUCN Guidelines for Privately Protected Areas

The recordings of all sessions and plenaries are available online until 10 May 2022. The recordings are available to registered participants only until mid-January 2022.

As the Global Congress had to be postponed, the ILCN and ELCN had also hosted a webinar series on key topics in civic and private land conservation in 2020 as well as 2021. Recordings of these webinar series are available here.
